Schipol Clock: Maarten Baas "Real Time" Installation
In the international terminal of Schipol Airport in Amsterdam there’s a delightful media installation (that’s what I’m going to call it). A video designed to look like a clock with a worker inside painting the time as it passes. It’s charming, and funny, and accurate. There’s a luminescent glow to it, and it really looks like someone is in there.
Installed was installed in 2016, and according to the artist the blue overalls, yellow rag, and red bucket, are meant to be an homage to Mondrian—the beloved Dutch artist.
